Area Sales Manager- Pharma/Biotech (Mid-Atlantic) Summary:The role of the Area Sales Manager (ASM) is drive specifications and sales for large projects in a 90 day – 3 year using their sales and technical skills, and professional network. Their focus is maintaining current business, developing new business and new customers (NCD/NBD), project winning, resulting in growth in alignment with the Core Industry Strategy. They are responsible for presenting our products, systems and project management capabilities within the Pharma and Biotech Core Industry. The ASM is to generate interest in the company and coordinate factory tours with key personnel; directly and through, Business Development Managers, Distribution Partners, and Corporate Key Account Managers while supporting the Core Industry market strategy. The ASM's main goal is to increase Burkert's sales in the Pharma and Biotechnology Market Segment through close collaboration, extensive and deep professional networks, and effective strategy.RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for sales growth and achievement of annual sales and profit goals within the P&B Core Industry in a specific geographyComplete and implement Account and Territory plans and provide accurate and timely forecasting informationPrepare and present the Burkert portfolio of products, systems and solutions defined target customersAssist in driving the specifications of Burkert Solutions at: OEMs, P&E firms, Distribution Partners, Integrators and End UsersResponsible for business growth by driving specification of Burkert Pharma and Biotech products in the earliest stages of a project or OEM opportunityRegular input into the Customer Relationship Management tool (Microsoft Dynamics, including contacts, meetings and opportunities, in) to ensure global alignment and transparencySupport customers and distributors in your area in their sales and marketing effortsNegotiate contracts with new and existing distribution partners, including regular updates on strategic initiatives, inventory selection and management, and defined targetsTraining of distribution partners, customers and new prospects on products and tools (e-shop)Adhere to published expense policy and expense budgets*This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected.
